Haskins researchers to measure ‘Coronavirus slide’ in children’s reading skills

A new research project, funded by the National Science Foundation, will allow Haskins researchers to test the efficacy of remote learning tools in offsetting the loss of reading skills in young children due to lengthy school closures. The “Coronavirus slide” is expected to lead to a 30% loss in learning compared to a normal school-year.
