Haskins Laboratories president awarded honorary doctorate

Haskins Laboratories President, Dr. Kenneth Pugh, has been awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Jyväskylä.

Doctorates were awarded to nine faculty members  of varying departments and universities, commending their meritorious work for the benefit of society or science.

Ken was recognized for his work on the neural, behavioral, and cognitive underpinnings of reading, as well as other cognitive activities and as being among the first scientists to use functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to study brain activity associated with reading and reading disabilities.
